Sword and Fairy 2 takes place 8 years after the first game, with the story continuing directly from its predecessor. The plot revolves around Wang Xiaohu, Su Mei, Shen Qishuang, and Li Yiru, weaving together a complex and intertwined tale of these four characters. The protagonist from the first game as well as new characters appear in the sequel, revealing the romantic entanglements and grudges that occurred in and will unfold between both games. This installment introduces multiple battle and cultivation systems for the first time, including spirit control, tiger fury, formation techniques, gu cultivation, and poison feeding.
